We’ve been in full swing with the new year fishing charters on Fort Myers Beach FL!
It’s been a bit of a chilly start to the new year, but that hasn’t kept us from having a great time on our fishing charters on Fort Myers Beach, FL! In fact, many species of fish are great to catch in the colder weather. Lately, we’ve been seeing quite a bit of trout, black drum, sheepshead and snapper.
The highlight of fishing this far south is that the sun heats the air pretty quickly. Even when we get cold fronts, by noon each day the weather is typically warm enough that you shouldn’t need a jacket. If you’re fishing on one of our morning charters you may only feel the cold air for the first couple of hours. The fish, on the other hand? Oh, don’t worry! The fish will keep biting all day!
Captain Rich and Captain Kenny have been having a blast on the water, reeling in a tasty dinner with all of our wonderful customers at Luck o’ The Irish Fishing Charters. We’ve had some other visitors too! The manatee love to taste the cool water when we release it from the back of the boat. They see us coming and get excited to pay us a visit after a full day of charters!

Note: It is illegal to harass, feed or give manatees fresh water. Please do not attempt to feed them from a hose. We do not attempt to feed these precious species. They come up and drink the water that we are draining from the back of our boat.
